Extreme Energy was born in the Sahara Desert while our managing director Neil Thubron was running the Marathon Des Sables. Frustrated that there were no multi-day ultra distance running events available in the UK to help MDS competitors get physically and mentally prepared.

Since we organised the 1^st Druid Challenge 5 years ago we have had over 500 MDS competitors use our events to get them ready for the desert physically, test all the kit, talk to MDS vets about what works and what doesn’t, meet fellow competitors and form tent groups.

Each year we have also provided “team XNRG” T shirts to any tent groups formed at our events.  

For anyone training for the MDS we have put together a special package.

• At the Druid Challenge in November we have a special presentation from Joey Sharma MDS 2013, sharing with us her journey from being a virtual non runner to completing the Toughest Foot Race on Earth.
• At the Druid Challenge we will also be joined by MDS super vet Rory Coleman to chat with competitors and share his experiences
• At the Druid and Pilgrim challenge Danny Kendall (10^th in MDS 2013 and the highest placed ever British runner) will be competing as part of his MDS 2014 prep. At the Pilgrim Challenge he will be holding a question and answers session on the Saturday evening. So you can ask one of the UKs best ultra runners, how he prepares, what he eats, and what he thinks as he takes on the challenge.
